The Putnam is a place where people connect with history and ideas by doing, making, and experiencing. Our classes and special events complement our hands-on exhibit galleries. There is always something new to discover for everyone when you visit the Putnam!

Museum Hours

  • Monday – Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
  • Thursdays: 10 am – 8 pm (Learn more)
  • Sunday: Noon – 5 pm

Museum Store Hours

  • Monday – Saturday: 11 am – 5 pm
  • Sunday: Noon – 5 pm

 

Snack Stop Hours

  • Monday – Friday: 10:30 am – 2:30 pm
  • Saturday: 10:30 am – 4:30 pm

Holidays & Closings

The Putnam will be closed on the following days:

  • Annual Maintenance/Training (one week in January TBA)

  • Christmas Eve (close at 2 p.m.)

Discovery Happy Hour - Every Weekday!

Are you looking for a fun and exciting way to burn some energy after school? Want to discover something new? Visit us on weekdays from 3:30 to 5:00 for Discovery Happy Hour and enjoy $5 off admission. This is the perfect opportunity to explore and discover new things while having a blast. Come join us for Happy Discovery Hour any weekday and let the fun begin!

Members can take 15% off Museum Store purchases from 3:30 – 5:00 pm on weekdays.

    • Mother’s Day: Mothers receive free General Admission with paid child.

    • Independence Day: All active duty military and veterans receive free General Admission.
    • Grandparent’s Day: Grandparents receive free General Admission with paid child.
    • Veteran’s Day: All veterans receive free General Admission.

Military Personnel and Family

The Putnam is proud to be a Blue Star Museum! From Armed Forces Day through Labor Day, all active duty military or military employees with a valid military ID and up to five family members receive FREE General Admission!

University and College Student Discount

Receive a discount on most admission packages by showing your student ID on every visit!

Wheelchairs, listening devices, large print maps and more are available when you visit for enhanced accessibility at the Putnam.

You can bring learning to life for your students, friends, and family by taking the entire group to The Putnam for the day.
