Garbage Glam
A Recycling Fashion Show
Put on your eco-friendly fashionista hat, and gather all of your fashion-loving friends for our second annual Garbage Glam: Recycling Fashion Show in our Grand Lobby. This is not your typical fashion show. Instead, it’s an evening of refreshments, fun, and fashion, with a cash bar.
Inspired by last year’s JUNKraft exhibit, designers are challenged to create a “garment” using at least 70% reused materials. From plastic bottles to discarded plastic grocery bags, each piece tells the story of the prolific nature of single-use plastics and their detrimental effect on the environment. At the Garbage Glam event, you’ll witness an amazing fashion show, with dresses, jackets, suits, or anything their model can wear down the runway.
As a sustainability-focused museum, Putnam Museum is committed to educating the public about the importance of culture and sustainability. We believe that the Garbage Glam event is a unique opportunity to showcase how fashion can be both sustainable and stylish. So, get ready to be wowed by the creativity and innovation of our designers. Join us for Garbage Glam and be part of the solution to reduce waste and protect the environment.
