Kaleidoscope Workshop
Step Beyond The Exhibit
Step beyond the exhibit and into the creative process during this exclusive, hands-on workshop with Tom Chouteau, the artist behind the Putnam Museum’s immersive Kaleidoscope Odyssey exhibition.
Featuring more than 24 large-scale kaleidoscopes, Kaleidoscope Odyssey celebrates the intersection of art, science, light, and optics, inviting visitors to explore towering walk-up kaleidoscopes filled with intricate patterns, flowers, stained glass, textures, and reflections that transform into ever-changing works of art. Now, for a limited time, guests can experience the exhibit in an entirely new way.
During this workshop, you will have the rare opportunity to sit down with Tom Chouteau, learn about the inspiration and techniques behind his remarkable creations, and craft your own kaleidoscope to take home. Along the way, you’ll gain unique insights into the artistry, engineering, and optical illusions that make the exhibition so captivating.
With only 20 spots available per workshop, these intimate sessions offer an unforgettable chance to connect with the artist, express your creativity, and experience the museum from a fresh perspective.
