Join us for an unforgettable evening with acclaimed Native American storyteller, performer, and educator Leland Faulkner. Presented in conjunction with Legacy of Land: Treaties and the Shaping of America and Quad City Arts Visiting Artist Series, this special performance invites audiences of all ages to experience the power of storytelling through wonder, imagination, and tradition.
Before the performance, guests are invited to experience the exhibit, exploring the histories and stories that provide meaningful context for the evening’s program. Following exhibit viewing, audiences will gather for Dreamcatcher, Leland Faulkner’s captivating collection of traditional Native American tales and magical adventures. Audiences are encouraged to listen with the heart of a child, the mind of an elder, and the soul of a warrior as they journey to other places and other times.
These timeless stories from Turtle Island celebrate the beauty of imagination while sharing lessons passed down through generations. Filled with animals, nature, dreams, tricksters, heroes, humor, mystery, hope, and healing, each story offers a glimpse into the enduring wisdom of Indigenous traditions.
Leland Faulkner is a member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa in Odanah, Wisconsin, his mother’s tribe. His father was a member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Fort Hall, Idaho. For more than 35 years, Leland has traveled the performer’s path, studying storytelling, physical theater, mime, and acting with master artists from around the world. Drawing from a lifetime of artistic exploration and cultural heritage, he brings these powerful stories to life in a performance that is both entertaining and deeply meaningful.
