Dance Me A Story – The Ugly Duckling

We are excited to partner with Ballet Quad Cities for Dance Me A Story in coordination with our featured exhibit Tails from Tales: Storybook Beasts. This is a fun, interactive dance activity for people of all ages encouraging reading through the vehicle of ballet.

Dance Me A Story gives the participant a physical and imaginative way of interpreting a piece of literature, The Ugly Duckling, by taking specific passages from the story and translating the words into creative movement. Participants learn about fine arts and how choreographers use literature to inspire the creation of their ballets.
