Our best Guest Services Associates are enthusiastic about the Putnam Museum & Science Center and everything we have to offer our visitors. As a Guest Services Associate, you will be cross trained in various tasks and roles within the Guest Services Department to enhance our guest experience by offering friendly, informed service, both in person and on the phone. This position will help shape the image of the Putnam to the community.

The Guest Services position is part-time working 20-25 hours a week with a starting rate of $12.00 per hour.

Essential Job Functions

  • Promote the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the Putnam Museum and Science Center.
  • Greet & assist guests to the Putnam in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the ticketing system to sell tickets for admission, programs, events, and movies.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge about Putnam policies, programs, films, exhibits, and the science center in order to answer questions from the public and encourage guests to enjoy the full range of experiences available.
  • Answer incoming telephone lines and provide information about exhibit halls, movies, programs, events, and Putnam services.
  • Complete cross-training in all Guest Services areas including ticketing, store, concessions, and theater hosting.
  • Maintain proper food service habits and procedures while working in concessions.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Promote Putnam Membership to all guests.
  • Assist with directing and coordinating guests, employees, and volunteers during emergency situations; understand and follow emergency procedures as outlined in emergency procedures documents.
  • Work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the organization.

Highly organized self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adhere to schedules, and work productively to finish a task from start to finish under deadline. Excellent attention to detail as well as written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service skills.
