Pathways

At the heart of Pathways is an intensive, no-cost after-school program at Putnam focused on enrichment learning, vocabulary development, and preparation for upper-level science and math courses in high school.  During the school year, ELL students come to the Putnam three afternoons a week for homework help, and month-long learning units on topics like space and ecosystems. Our educators lead hands-on activities and guided gallery visits, our curators facilitate artifact exploration, and other community resources provide additional enrichment both at Putnam and off-site.

Knowing that adult family involvement is key to students’ success, we host weekend family events featuring immersive activities, Giant Screen documentaries and more. All participating families can also receive free Putnam memberships to explore the museum together whenever they wish, and students can enroll in Putnam summer camps at no charge to help decrease the summer learning slide.
