The Secret Word is Bucktown

Join us for our March History on Tap event featuring Quad Cities journalist Jonathan Turner as he presents “A Brief History of Bucktown,” the colorful neighborhood of the east side of downtown Davenport. It has a bustling history of high and low culture, as it was once home to 42 brothels within a few blocks and gave Davenport the reputation as “The Worst Town in America,” and forces battled mightily over prostitution and alcohol regulation for the city’s very soul.

In recent decades, many redevelopments have restored historic buildings in the area and raised new ones, rebranding the district  as “Motor Row,” one of the most popular destinations in the region to live, work, eat, drink and play.

We hope to see you there for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of history, drinks, and camaraderie. Don’t miss out on this chance to delve into the rich history of one of Davenport’s most intriguing neighborhoods!
