Putnam Guild

The Putnam Museum Guild is dedicated to supporting the Putnam Museum through fundraising, volunteering and promotion of the museum in the community.

Founded in 1960 as a group to help preserve and organize all artifacts before the move from downtown Davenport to the Museum’s current site, the Guild is still a vital part of the Putnam’s existence today.

Membership in the Putnam Museum Guild is open to men and women of all ages, interests and backgrounds. The only requirements are an interest and willingness to get involved, the determination to support the work of the Putnam Museum and Science Center and a payment of modest annual dues.

In joining the Guild, you benefit yourself, the Putnam, your community Museum and Science Center and generations of community residents. Below are several ways that the Guild is involved in the Putnam Museum and Science Center. Join the Guild today by contacting Gale Hoff via email at galelhoff@gmail.com or call 563-210-1591.

Mask Making for Health Care Professionals

Putnam Museum Guild is responding to the COVID-19 health emergency by creating face masks for area health care professionals. Nearly 30 Guild members have been busy cutting, prepping, and sewing masks, with nearly 200 masks underway. Donations are being accepted of:

  • prewashed 100% cotton fabric

  • bias tape

  • 3/8” elastic

  • twist ties or pipe cleaners

If you would like to donate to help in these efforts, please contact Rachael Mullins at (563) 336-7310 to coordinate a drop off at the museum. We are also accepting monetary donations to provide for the filter inserts that provide the greatest protection against the virus. Send your donations care of the Putnam Museum and Science Center at 1717 12th Street, Davenport, Iowa 52804 with "Face Mask Supplies" in the Memo line or on a note.
