Images of the Floating World:
An Exhibit in Memory of Ray and Yone Tanaka
This exhibit features brilliantly colored Japanese woodblock prints from the Edo period (1603-1868). They show scenes from Kabuki theater productions, folk tales, history, and daily life. Artifacts representing the themes of the prints bring the scenes to life. Stand face to face with a Samurai soldier and enjoy the beauty of a Japanese wedding kimono. |
